Rep. Pat Garofalo (R-Farmington) is not known at the Minnesota State Capitol as one of the smartest legislators. Dogmatic, hyper-partisan, hypocritical and thin-skinned bully are more apt descriptions. He’s a former teacher, and therefore the Republican education expert, yet he seems rather ignorant about MN’s education problems.
So this latest braincramp seems to fit right in with his persona as the loud-mouthed, ignorant uncle:
State Rep. Pat Garofalo, R-Farmington, is questioning a provision in the lease for the new Vikings stadium that prohibits gun shops as vendors in the new facility.
“This provision was never included in the Metrodome lease, was not included in the new Vikings stadium legislation and was not identified as an issue or a problem that needed to be addressed prior to this agreement,” Garofalo said in a letter to the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, which signed the lease and a development agreement with the Vikings last week.

Yep. Selling guns at the Vikings stadium sounds like a great idea. Because beer + guns always go well together. But beer + guns + football? Teh Awshum
The language of the agreement forbids the team and authority from using any part of the stadium complex “for any gun shop or other store whose primary business is the sale of guns or other weapons; for any adults-only use, such as the sale or display of adults-only books, periodicals, or tapes, adults-only motion pictures, and adult entertainment; for any pawn shop; or for any so-called head shop.”
But football + beer + guns + porn = VICTORY!!!
Pat Garofalo is protecting family values for everybody!!!
