Welcome to the new format

by The Big E on February 20, 2013 · 9 comments

Joe and I have been working hard for ages to upgrade the site to WordPress. We hope you like it.

We’re keeping the community-based format so other than the look and feel we hope the site behave much like the old one did … except better.

We have  a lot more flexibility and there will be some features we’re going to be exploring and implementing in the next few weeks. Please let us know what you think.

NOTE: You will need to reset your password!

  1. Click on Login (upper right corner)
  2. Click on the Lost Your Password? link
  3. Enter email address and click on the Get New Password button
  4. Find email that WordPress sends to your email address and follow link to reset password.

Suggestions are always welcome.

How are we supposed to post a diary here now that the format has changed?

Once you’re logged in (plz contact me or Joe if you have problems), you’ll see a grey bar across the top. Look for the + NEW link.

I see a gray bar across the top and on my computer it starts with “Diaries” on the left and ends with “Minneapolis” on the right. Beyond that there’s an empty gray box where I assume +NEW is supposed to be. BTW I downloaded the WordPress latest edition as per the link on my “dashboard.”

Can you email a screenshot? I log in as an admin so maybe I’m seeing things quite differently than you do.

That is a really small font. Do you have any plans to make it larger?

How are your related posts selected? Many seem irrelevant and multiple years old.

Good point. I have yet to monkey around with the Related Post functionality. I hope to get it working better soon.
