Who’s in for Minneapolis mayor?

by Dan Burns on December 1, 2012 · 3 comments

Because it’s not a sure thing, that the current occupant of the office will seek another term.

(Minneapolis Mayor R.T.) Rybak, meanwhile, says he’ll announce his decision by January 1. For the second time in four years, he’s thought to be a candidate for a gig in the Obama administration.

Based on the linked article, Minneapolis City Council member Betsy Hodges has filed paperwork to run, but will only do so if Rybak doesn’t.  Another City Council member, Gary Schiff, may run even if Rybak does.

Another name floating around is that of Jim Graves, who recently barely lost the MN CD-6 congressional race to Michele Bachmann.  It appears that he has yet to say anything publicly, regarding the matter.

As you may have noticed, because it’s so unusual for me, I’ve refrained from any gratuitous editorial commentary in this post.  Commenters are under no such stricture.  As always, though, outright scurrility is of course forbidden.

So he ran in the 6th and lives in Minneapolis? Or he has a home in Minneapolis?

a quick search, and St. Cloud is listed as his residence, in the places I looked.  He also ran for Congress on a platform that was by no means liberal.  I’ll be surprised if he really runs for this.
